LED project conducted a workshop on integrated approach to energy saving in rural areas and energy efficient residential houses for local authorities and farmers of Khorezm province of Uzbekistan.
Information on application of renewable energy sources in Uzbekistan and methods to increase energy efficiency of rural houses were presented to 34 local farmers. A series of videos relevant to modern thermal insulation materials and their cost, installation of biogas units, energy efficient greenhouses were demonstrated and attracted great attention of the participants.
The project also disseminated its promo-materials among the trainees and handed over them to the Extension Service Center for Farmers that was established at the Urgench State University on the base of the project’s Demonstration Center on Biogas Technologies (since 2012). The purposes of the Extension Service Center include exchange of information, news and ideas between farmers, researchers and consultants; promotion of locally adaptive technologies among farmers; keeping in touch with local agriculture producers and farmers; providing farmers with consultations on farm keeping, agriculture events, economic estimations, etc.
The provided promo material were the step-by-step manual on biogas installation and operation “Biogas: 11 Steps Towards the Success” and a promo-brochure “Make Your Home Warmer”, both in Uzbek and Russian languages.
