In spite of many initiatives, the WASH sector activities suffer from dearth of systematic learning and sharing. The knowledge based products in the sector is confined mainly in one's own project documents and progress report while marketing tool and tricks are not optimally used. Such situation has constrained the cross-pollination of ideas of different sector actors for innovation, changes, effectiveness and sustainability of WASH sector. In order to develop the learning and sharing platform for stakeholders in WASH sector, it was envisioned by Department of Water Supply and Sanitation organized the one day Expo as an integral part of World Water Day 2015.
The objective of WASH Expo is to offer a learning avenue for all the knowledge seekers and sector professionals along with innovation in WASH sector, market the ideas and product, document and promote the cross-learning, developing professional networks among the institutions and seeking the areas of further collaboration for mutual benefits among different agencies.
From MetaMeta, I have participated the Expo to expose few MetaMeta product and see the opportunity to extend the hand with more organizations/institution working in WASH Sector.
It was the first ever WASH Expo taken place at Nagarkot, Nepal. The Government of Nepal has a plan to organize WASH Expo every year in the coming Years.
