EARTH Concepts

Earth Concept is an unique company that combines regular business principles with a high degree of social responsibility. It sells EARTH-products to consumers at competitive prices under an arrangement whereby 100 % of net profits will be donated to fund water projects. Earth Concepts has been founded in 2007 in Amsterdam in the Netherlands by Patrick de Nekker and Henk Witteveen. The company has set up subsidiaries in the Belgium, France, Portugal, Spain, South Africa and Brazil.

Patrick de Nekker is responsible for the Sales Strategy and Operations. He lives according to the idea: “If you don’t do anything, nothing will happen”. He has 10 years of working experience with companies such as Numico, Hero and Heineken, where he served as a Channel and New Business Manager. Why did Patrick become a founding partner of Earth Concepts? He couldn’t get these words out of his mind: “If you had the chance, would you change the world?” Patrick likes the excitement and satisfaction of being an entrepreneur, while also having the opportunity to increase the value and meaning of his life by helping people throughout the world. In the case of Earth Concepts this means: helping people worldwide to gain access to clean, drinkable water and food.

Henk Witteveen is responsible for Marketing and Communication. Henk is interested in questions on how to reach people and change the way they usually think and act. He has worked as an entrepreneur in several areas of communication: he was publisher for 10 years of the biggest Dance Magazine, organized the biggest Dance Event in the Benelux, the FFWD Dance Parade with 500.000 visitors and set up many events for various brands. Now it is time to give back and as he states: “Giving back; that feels really good“.
