Participating Communities (Participating Communities' Contributions In-Kind)

KAP works in selected focus areas where it remains intensively active for a period of around two years. Within these areas all organisations, groups, primary- and secondary schools, technical training institutes, universities, Churches, Mosques etc. are invited to take part, as well as youths who-do-not-belong to any grouping. Each focus area has an average of 25 of these 'Sending Organisations'. In the light of community ownership the participating organisations proceed to donate their venues free of charge for all core and follow-up education/training activities, attend without any provision of sitting allowance and transport refunds whilst all Volunteers' activities are done in their own time, style and pace without remuneration.
In Kenya's fast increasing money-motivation culture, this is a real achievement and is contrary to current common practice. In-kind contributions are carefully based on existing and audited fees and calculations.
