Established in 1981, WaterAid is an international non governmental organisation focused exclusively on improving poor people’s access to safe water, improved hygiene and sanitation in developing countries. We believe that water and sanitation are human rights. These essential services are vital for health, education and livelihoods; and form the first, essential step in overcoming poverty. With the right political will, resources and drive
we believe that our vision is achievable. Yet 4,000 children die every day because they do not have access to safe water or sanitation. In the last 28 years we have reached 13 million people in Africa, Asia and the Pacific
region through our work with local partner organizations using appropriate and affordable technologies that communities can operate
and maintain.
