Citizens of Rivne save energy

13-Jun-2012, by Olena Ursu, UNDP, via web

In Rivne which is one of the partner municipalities of our project the citizens get organised, create their associations of co-owners of multiapartment houses to manage their joint residential property and improve their quality of life. Mostly the projects are related with raising the level of energy efficiency of the houses, e.g. roof reconstruction, building's front insulation, window replacement, heating meters' installation, etc.

In 2012, 29 community projects of this nature are being implemented in the city. Out of them, only 5 are co-financed by MGSDP, all others are financed under the cost-sharing principle by the community itself and the city council.

This video features the story of one community with such experience - homeowners' association "Gazda".
